What Is Laser Treatment?
A laser in dentistry is a safe high-tech device that uses light energy to treat human tissue. Lasers are unique because they have the ability to treat targeted areas while unaffecting surrounding areas. This technology allows us to perform extremely precise treatments to mouth sores. Lasers also have the ability to seal off blood vessels and nerve endings during a procedure, lessening bleeding, pain, swelling, and more. Lasers are gentle and precise in nature, and do not require anesthetic in most cases.

Treating Cold Sores
Gentle lasers focus on the cold sores. Cold sores can often times be un comfortable, unaesthetic, and inconvenient. Typically cold sores generally break out around the upper or lower lip in response to trauma, physical/ psychological stress, and a variety of other reasons. These lesions are known as “cold sores” because sufferers frequently notice an outbreak before, during or after illness, when the body’s immune system has been weakened. Be sure to give us a call as soon as you feel a cold sore starting. We can usually see you quickly to prevent the outbreak from getting worse.
Treating Canker Sores
Laser treatment is very effective on Aphthous ulcers (canker sores) for the similar reasons. Canker sores differ from cold sores. Typically canker sores affect the inside of the mouth, usually inside the cheeks, on the palate, or around the tongue. The stinging sensation of a canker sore is eliminated within seconds of performing a laser treatment and healing occurs quickly.
